The Young Connoisseur
Photo and caption by Bulent Atalay
The Museum of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in Providence, Rhode Island, houses over 80,000 works of art, ranging from ancient Greek and Roman sculpture to French Impressionist paintings, from Chinese stone and terracotta sculpture to contemporary art in every medium, including textiles, ceramics, glass, and furniture. In the photograph is seen a young art connoisseur contemplating an early 19th century work in the “Old Europeans Paintings Gallery” of RISD. I had to pull out the camera, and shoot reflexively to capture the Norman Rockwell moment.
