ANCIENT WINDMILL SPINS AGAIN
Photo and caption by Miguel Ramos
I took more than a year to realize this dream of idea, in which the stars would “replace” the paddles of this old windmill on a startrail photography. Moonlight was great here, illuminating the windmill. I just needed to have the Polar Star above the center of the windmill and let the time pass to “record” the circles of the stars around it, but here in Azores it is rare to have a clear sky long enough to make these beautiful images... but finally I got it. 63 minutes exposure obtained by 253 photos of 15 seconds each. Shot in Azores island of S. Miguel at October 26th, 2012.
