Approaching the massive cloud we felt smaller and smaller. The plume of gas stretched for miles, darkened the moon, and choked us even as we inhaled through our shirts. The steam strew across the ground from unseen cracks warming our feet as we walked but nothing could deter us. We were determined to get as close as we could to the inferno that was creating the cloud that engulfed us as we conquered our fear of the unknown.
