A fire crew from the Buffalo National River in Arkansas completes a fall burn in late October 2012. A firefighter (in the background) was clearing this creek of fuels using a backpack leaf blower and the 'lighter' was following up behind him with his drip torch to ignite along the line. Two more firefighters were lighting to the interior of this one. The fire was being lit in order to reduce the fuel load of the unit and to promote the growth of rare, fire dependent plants in glade habitat.
