Cramped Quarters

I placed one of my houseplants outside to try and let nature alleviate a scale infestation. Within a few days, a local hummingbird began making a nest in my houseplant. What a very unique experience! From the jellybean sized eggs in this nest that is not much bigger than a golf ball, to watching the chicks grow until they barely fit inside their nursery was, to say the least, very cool. I was able to observe them everyday until they fledged; the nest was barely two feet away from my front door.
