From November to April is the only season to survive in Danakil desert. In winter, the temperature is often greater than 45°C.The locals hurry their camel in the morning to avoid the sunshine.Arriving in Salt Lake, the man dug the salt block just in the midday. After digging 200-300KG salts which are cost about 20 US$ for one camel, the salt was carried to the nearest market where took about another 4 days round trip. The harvest in 5 months will exchange for food and necessities to support the entire year. Those bitter coarse salts supply to the poor families who could not afford to buy refined salt
