I was walking down a 2 track near the Riley Lake Wildlife Area. I came upon a small patch of long grass about 10 feet square. There were many dragonflies perched on the tassels at the ends of stalks. I took a few shots and then I moved in closer to this dragonfly. I was repulsed by what I saw. Fear of the large spider gripped me and I took a step back. I was expecting just a dragonfly not the spider. As I looked closer there were many spiders on the tassels waiting to attack. I dubbed this spider the Dragon Slayer. I identified the spider later and I was disappointed by its name.

Location: Riley Lake Wildlife Area, Price County, Wisconsin USA
