Weedy Seadragon (Phyllopteryx taeniolatus) males look after their fertilized eggs for approximately two months before the fully formed young hatch and make their own way in the marine world (with the help of their diminishing egg sacs). This photo was taken on a day with incredibly beautiful and unusually clear temperate waters which helped to showcase this father's wonderful colours.
