The sambar inhabits much of southern Asia (as far north as the south-facing slopes of the Himalayan Mountains), mainland Southeast Asia (Burma, Thailand, Indochina, the Malay Peninsula), southern China (including Hainan Island), Taiwan, and the islands of Sumatra and Borneo in Indonesia. However this rare sight was experienced in Bandhavgarh National Park, Madhya Pradesh in India. This was shot in the evening just when the sun was about to go below the horizon. shot using a 70-200 f2.8 Canon lens, the shyness of the deer was attempted to be captured here.

Location: Bandhavgarh National Park, Umeria, India
