The overlook is perched on an outcropping of rock over the Pacific Ocean just north of Muir Beach. There had been an observation post here during World War II. One can only wonder what there was to observe on mornings like this. I am reminded of what Buzz Lightyear said in the film Toy Story. "To infinity and beyond."
