Dandora, one of the most dangerous gang-run slums in Nairobi, Kenya, is home of thousands of children living in Africa's largest open air dumping site. Children living there are exposed to pollutants such as heavy metals and toxic substances through soil, water and air. Despite this hostile, apocalyptic environment, children go on with their lives, finding joy and happiness wherever they can. This child is playing in a gigantic pile of trash made of discarded plastic wrappers.
