The Galopera is a traditional dance of Paraguay and one of its most important cultural expressions. It's believed it was born in La Chacarita (one of the most famous and poorest neighborhoods of Asuncion the capital of the country) when widows of War of the Triple Alliance fighters started dancing alone. The song "Galopera" by renowned composer Mauricio Cardozo Ocampo talks about the dancers of La Chacarita in the 40s, of whom Ña Nena, equivalent to "Mrs. Baby" in English, is one of the eight survivors and the oldest currently still dancing. This was in the feast of San Blas held on Feb 3
Location: Asunción, La Chacarita, Paraguay
