Lion at Longleat

We took my youngest daughter to Longleat for her eighth birthday. This shot was taken through the car window. I felt overwhelmingly sad that this lion was spending his days in a British climates. The sky was grey and the leaves were turning; he was far away from the his ancestral heritage. His scarred face gave him a slightly careworn look as he guarded his territory from the cruising cars.
