The Desana or Umukomasã (people of the universe) are an indigenous group inhabiting the northwestern Brazilian state of Amazonas, and also Colombia. There are approximately 1,500 Desana in Brazil, distributed over 60 communities in the mixed communities of other peoples of the same language family.
