Covering 131.7 square miles with a shoreline of about 141 miles, and 20 mile stretches of open water define Yellowstone Lake and pronounce it the largest fresh water lake found above 7000 feet in altitude. At its deepest point, this majestic lake hits a great depth of 410 feet. Located in one of the world's extraordinary and uniquely defined natural landscapes, this lake is sits on top of an active volcano spattered in hot springs, geysers, mud pots and countless other breathtaking natural occurrences. Some of these thermal features can even be found bellow the lake's great waters.
