This photograph was shot in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir in September 2012. This girl came begging for money. My heart literally sinks when I look at kids doing this for survival. The social imbalance of the world we live in hurts me. After paying her the money, I asked her permission for a shot, my hands were literally trembling as I too this shot (as I don't digest these painful situations well). The shake is literally visible in the photograph but that makes me remember the moment and the anxiety which I went through. I feel the image and it moves me every single time.
