Uma lulic is a Tetum name for sacred houses in East Timor, picturesque reminders of animist beliefs surviving alongside with Christianity brought by Portuguese. Traditionally considered to be a home to ancestors’ spirits, this time two sacred houses became a shelter and a perfect frame for the playful girls in Maupitine.
