A meter long male Emperor cichlid, Boulengerochromis microlepis, guides his offspring in the emerald waters of lake Tanganyika. Despite being the largest cichlid on Earth, and performing a strong parental care, only a few of his more than ten thousand fry will reach into adulthood to start the story again, in the highly competitive waters of the deepest lake in Africa.
Location: Lake Tanganyika, Zambian coast, Isanga village.
