My wife and I were staying at Finca Lerida, a coffee plantation near Boquete, Panama. I carried a small infrared camera on my morning run and was fortunate to encounter this curious girl and her small sister. They permitted me to take this photograph. It wasn't till later that I was struck by the power of her penetrating stare.
