A Hidden Emotion

This is a traditional Muslim wedding ceremony on the Indonesian island of Sumbawa. While traveling through this Island on a surfing trip, I made friends with some of the locals from the small coastal village of seaweed farmers. I was privileged enough to have been invited to such a momentous transition of life. If eating water buffalo for a meal during the ceremony wasn't enough of a cultural experience, the segregated seating between the men and women of the village was surely enough to help one realize how far away home really was. The deep expressions on the couples faces say it all.
