In the Belly of a Moose

As an Isle Royale moose attempted an arctic crossing of Washington Harbor, the frozen surface of Lake Superior collapsed beneath him. With his hoofs on the lake bottom and belly, head and rump at water level, the moose struggled before becoming entombed in the reassembling ice. Wolves arrived, removing the front and back ends and leaving behind a solid, impenetrable exterior. The clever fox then enters; using its warm breath, it thawed the fresh meat and discovered a winter meal.
