Ladakhi peasants wainting for the sand storm to pass so they can continue to collects yak manure in the Indo valley. Isolated in the Himalayas most part of the year, the region of Ladakh is dry and barren; manure is one of the few alternatives to increase fertility. The crop of the summer must feed the families for the entire winter.
