The Medieterranean Sea, as it may be observed from Valletta, which is the capital of the Republic of Malta. The Mediterranean Sea has played a major role in the development of ancient civilizations (Romans, Egyptians, Greeks...) since it was sailed by merchants and travelers over the centuries. Similarly, Malta has been occupied by many ancient powers (Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs...) because of its central position in the Mediterranean Sea. Nowadays, Malta still offers people a magnificent view of The Great Blue.
