Jakar Festival in Bhutan

A truly amazing start to the day. Arriving at the Jakar Festival, in Bhutan, in the early hours and being part of the Thondrei Ceremony. It involves a large silk embroidered artwork inside the Dzong. This is very important in Bhutanese culture and a great blessing. I could see Monks giving out blessings and dancers coming in to add to this spectacular experience. These dancers are monks who jump as high as they can and contribute through their dance to the ceremony. The costumes are multi layered and coloured dresses which look amazing and transcend great energy.
