I was on a humid Sunday morning trudge through Tucker Valley, a protected nature park in north east Trinidad. The walk was part our country's first Bioblitz, where members of the public were invited to accompany the scientists of the University of the West Indies as they surveyed plant and animal species. It was muddy and damp and gloomy and I was wondering if I shouldn't have just stayed in bed, but then I looked up and this is what I saw - changed my whole perspective and lifted my spirits.
