Growing up in Jamaica the hibicus was a commonly seen flower, however I do not recall ever seeing a split coloured bloom. This bloom first appeared in 2012 and appeared more than once. As I am Canadian, I decided to reflect the colours in our flag together with the confusion of the bloom in choosing the title.
