Soft Landing

I wonder if it's some times difficult for birds to know exactly where ground zero is when they're landing on highly reflective water. This gull came in quite fast for his landing. I think he thought the water was a little further away. When he landed he looked a little surprised and even embarrassed and he made quite a splash on the pond by Jericho beach here in Vancouver, BC.
