Banana Slug Love

Hiking on a trail in springthe Santa Cruz Mountains near Purisima Creek in northern California banana these slugs are found mating in the forest. They put down a layer of slime as they entwine. They are natural hermaphrodites and can mate as either man or woman. They sometimes chew off the penis to disconnect. They are about 6 to 8 inches long.
