Road to Mordor

The Desert Road, also known as State Highway 1, runs through a barren and inhospitable area of New Zealand's north island. This area is basically Lord of the Rings territory and the road provides access to the three volcanos of the region, namely Mount Tongariro, Mount Ruapehu and Mount Ngauruhoe. The later two were digitally altered and used to represent Mordor in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. A rainbow was the last thing I expected to see on the way to Sauron's Kingdom.
