A Tibetan monk is showing a small child how to turn a prayer wheel at the Thimphu Memorial Stupa in Bhutan. Monks and laypeople may go on a daily basis to create good karma and to meditate. The wheels are set in motion by those who circum-ambulate the building in a clockwise direction. Inside the prayer wheels are papers where Bhuddist texts are printed. A bell rings which helps to know how many times one has circum-ambulated. The monk and small child in this picture is striking. It shows how these traditions are handed down from generation to generation.
