As I walked alongside a swift glacial river in Jasper National Park, the stripe in this small rock caught my attention. Its unique shape reminded me of the innate connection between the rocks littering the ground beneath my feet and the towering mountains above. The perspective captured in this photo inspires the realization that this small rock is on its own journey across the surface of the Earth that began a long time ago in the majestic peaks where it originated.
