In India, worship of God or meditation is directly linked to some hallucinogenic drugs like Cannabis which has been used in a religious and spiritual context by Sadhus(Indian saints),one sect in Hindus, since the Vedic period dating back to approximately 1500BC. On the other hand Hindu priests, other sect in Hindus, totally prohibit the use of these drugs and even alcohol and flesh. These priests have forbidden the older path. These two sects created a vast difference in the society of Hindus to decide which path is leading to Nirvana, whether its a simple open path or the forbidden path.
