A Study In Ice

"The Ledges" in Troy, NH are known locally for their amazing ice formations created by warm moist air rising up from the numerous fissures along the edge of the ledge. One cold morning the area was wrapped in fog and I spent some time photographing the amazing formations that are created when this warm moist air freezes on the plants and rocks. The background ice sheet, created from water dripping down the face of the ledges, adds to this almost surreal image. Great place to get amazing shots. Don't park on the road!
