While shooting my friends surfing an early morning wave that was breaking into a river mouth in west Java, I caught this vibrant boat coming in from the foggy Indian ocean; an obtrusive palm branch accidentally made its way into the upper right corner of the photo, and added to the dark foggy essence of this time and place. This very river mouth is suspected as being the last exit port for human smuggling vessels taking illegal immigrants out of Indonesia with hopes of reaching Christmas Island Australia; Yet I am sure that this particular vessel was simply an innocent fishing boat.
