Category: Nature
Photo and caption by Sarah Lam
I stand and look above, at a long haired American Navajo women etched into the earth of it's peoples. Red Sandstone, carved out over the centuries by the elements. Her air still flows in the wind as she emerges from the rock touched by the southwest sun, strong in her presence and reflective of her beginnings. The strength and witness of the work of natures elements make this photo so aesthetically beautiful yet culturally empowering, really binding together a beginning of a peoples, their heritage and their land. Photo taken mid-day in the slot canyon's on the Arizona/Utah border.
