Intense eyes of a Coyote

Category: Nature

Photo and caption by debbie panetta

I was walking my dog when I saw a Golden Eagle on top of a boulder. The Golden Eagle was eyeing an unfortunate Rabbit then flew down and started feasting. Out of the corner of my eye I saw something moving fast toward him. To my amazement, it was a Coyote! As you can see, the Coyote is running so fast that his tail is straight out and has 1 paw on the ground. The intense look in his eyes is focused only on the Rabbit. The Golden Eagle never saw him coming. This picture was taken with an EOS Canon Rebel T2i set on sports. Dated 10/3/11

Location: Lemmon Valley, Nv. just north of Reno out in the desert
