This photograph was taken on a very remote island, named G-Plot in the Sundarbans, West Bengal, India. Village life is basic yet it has a wide selection of shops and trades; from bicycle repair shops to tailors and it comes alive in the evening. From the photographers viewpoint it offers vibrancy, in the colours and the varied existence of the inhabitants. Light is only supplied by weak bulbs and using flash would have destroyed the harmony of the village. It is only thanks to the amazing low light capabilities of the Nikon D3s which made photographing there at all possible.
