Ducks Flying Over the Erie Canal

I was shooting the colorful autumn trees over the Erie Canal when I noticed these ducks sitting on an old canal lock. I threw a rock in the hopes of making a small noise to get them to stand up so I could get a nice telephoto closeup shot of their beautiful colors. Instead, the rock hit the metal lock with a loud clang startling the ducks who took off flying. I was able to snap this shot as they went.
