Sharing a Meal

We were watching a pair of coastal brown bear dig for clams, when a hungry red fox quietly wandered in to search the bears' fresh-dug holes for leftovers. The bears surprisingly let the fox sneak around longer and in closer proximity than we had expected, until he became a nuisance and the bears finally chased him away. This photo was taken in Hallo Bay, Alaska, on a trip with my mother for her annual family reunion in June 2012.
