Cuniform Wenlock

As part of the UK's promotion of the 2012 Olympics, staff at the British Embassy in Tehran took photographs of Wenlock, one of the Olympic mascots, next to sites of interest in Iran to boost visits to the Embassy's website. Here, Wenlock attempts to read the cuniform writing inscribed on the ancient ziggurat at Choqha Zanbil. Two days later, the Embassy compounds were attacked and Wenlock briefly held hostage. He has since been posted to Kabul.
