The Killing Bite

An osprey delivers the killing bite to a cutthroat trout. We were slowly cruising through Lamar Valley when this osprey hit the water and then quickly careened to a dead stand of trees along the shoreline. I quickly got the camera on it and began photographing it. The trout was still struggling and the osprey had its wings up for balance when it decided enough was enough and it killed the fish with one bite.
