I had arrived early at Deadvlei and almost had the pan to myself, apart from 3-4 others. It was a way of seeing a perspective on the size of the trees, so I didn't mind. You can see them if you look hard enough. It was an hour of peace where we stayed out of each others way. By the time I left, the clay pan was absolutely crawling with people, some in very very brightly coloured clothes, so was so happy to have experienced it almost alone.
