This photo was taken by my daughter, Lydia Smith, age 17. Exploring South Georgia Island, we were greeted by thousands of king penguins. This photo focuses in on a single king penguin, with the colony behind him. The brown fluffy penguins are juveniles. The brilliant orange and yellow colorations of the king penguin only add to the majesty of the king penguin.
