"The Cheetah's bite" (Acinonyx jubatus)

Category: Nature

Photo and caption by Gnoffo Eleonora

The Cheetah has just caught its prey, to feed its 4 puppies. A few breathtaking seconds. From my jeep, only 6 meters away, I'm witnessing life slowly fading away from the impala's eyes. In the air the scent of the savanna, and an unnatural silence, broken off only by the cheetah's gasping breathing. These are the laws of nature, cruelly ratifying the "law of the strongest", of the predator over the prey, of death for life...

Location: - Timbavati Reserve, Mpumalanga - South Africa.
