American flamingos

Lying flat at the edge of the colony long before dawn flamingos passed around me unconcerned by my presence. There were endless photographic possibilities as geometrical patterns appeared and instantly disappeared with the constant movement of these slender birds within the colony. Nests had already been abandoned and both adults and juveniles were starting their migration towards safe havens that will protect them from coming winter storms.
Location: Ria Lagartos Biosphere Reserve, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico.
