Baby elephant protected by mother
Photo and caption by Basil Stathoulis
I followed a herd of elephants for two hours, waiting to capture a moment that showed I was connected with these giant beasts. The moment came when they moved off, and the baby elephant tucked himself behind his mother, framed by her legs and belly. When not threatened they emit a soothing whale-like rumbling that fills the air with peace.
