Even Flies Like Flowers

Category: Nature

Photo and caption by Sally Stone

This past summer, my native prairie garden hummed with birds, butterflies, bees, and, well, flies. The lowly fly's beauty often goes unnoticed when nature's more acceptable friends come to visit. One of the composters of the garden, without flies and the like, we'd be swimming in even more garbage than we already create.

Location: My native prairie garden, Northbrook, IL United States
