The Shark and the Golden Fin

Category: Nature

With over 70 million sharks killed each year for their fins, sharks are being overfished in many parts of the world at an alarming rate, and many shark populations have declined by as much as 90%. In the past 50 years humans have turned the tables on the oceans and it is feared sharks could possibly become extinct in the next decade or two. Sharks now represent the greatest percentage of threatened marine species on the IUCN Red List. Photo: Tre' Packard - shark finning in Japan. For more information pleas visit PangeaSeed.org
