Ustupu blues

This picture was taken in Ustupu last February. Ustupu is the largest island of Kuna Yala - Panama. Albinism is the most common genetic disease in Kuna Yala due to the frequent marriages between relatives. This indio-albino girl was one of the most frequent visions of my stay in Ustupu (40 days). In spite of the sun her skin was not burnt contrary to most of the albino people of the island. Albinism such as omosexuality are no more cause of discrimination between Kuna indios. I saw people living in real armony and that helped me to go through sour times.
