I enjoyed a week-long backpacking loop around the Cirque of the Towers in the Wind River Range of Wyoming. We were approaching our camp site on the west side of the Cirque, late in the day in September, 2012. The grass was golden, the skies were becoming overcast, and the beautiful granite pinacles in the Cirque had a captivating gray tone above the evergreens in the middle of the photo. I liked the scene, the colorful contrasts, the lighting, and the composition in the photo. The Cirque of the Towers is one of the most beautiful natural settings in wild, wonderful, windy Wyoming.
